Bishop Robert P. Deeley has appointed a new director of seminarians and a new interim director of campus ministry for the Diocese of Portland. Both appointments are effective on July 1, 2019.

PORTLAND---Bishop Robert P. Deeley has announced seven additional priest assignments, with effective dates noted below.

It is the oldest continuously used Catholic Church east of the Mississippi River, the first church in the United States to be named for St. Patrick, and houses both the altar of Bishop Cheverus and a bell cast by Paul Revere. But each corner and adornment of the elegant red brick sanctuary that is the old St. Patrick Church in Newcastle has a story. Now, community members are invited to hear them all.

It has become an annual labor of love and generosity in Augusta. The St. Michael School and Travis Mills Foundation Walk-A-Thon drew nearly 200 student participants on Wednesday, May 15, raising money for both the school and the foundation, which benefits and assists wounded and injured veterans and their families.

I am grateful to the Holy Father for these norms, and confident they will be helpful to the Church as we move forward in addressing these challenges.
