For five years, the St. Michael School and Travis Mills Foundation Walk-A-Thon has steadily grown into a heart-warming fundraiser that annually displays the importance placed on service and kindness at the Augusta school. Students walk laps around the block of the school, located on Sewall Street, raising money for the foundation and the school through pre-obtained pledges.
On what would have been Commitment Weekend for the Catholic Appeal in Maine parishes, Bishop Robert Deeley celebrated his weekly, Sunday live-streamed Mass from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland on May 17.
As Catholics across Maine tuned into live-streamed Masses this weekend, it marked eight weeks since the doors of Maine churches had been closed due to restrictions and safety guidelines stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.
