Why build an Adoration Chapel?Where there is an Adoration Chapel, there is growth and new life in a parish. The more hours of adoration in a parish, the more vibrant we will be. It is an opportunity to sit quietly and devoutly in His presence to pour out our hearts to Him, and to receive graces and peace.
We wish to provide the opportunity for anyone seeking Him to sit in His presence. We hope to make the Chapel available several days and times during the week, depending on volunteer numbers, for the faithful to come and adore our Lord in a quiet, comfortable space.Perpetual adoration is a growing Catholic trend - check out this article!
We envision that bringing this Chapel to fruition will provide other benefits for our Parish, and creative opportunities for faith sharing and worship, such as:- Hosting special events like speakers and holy hours run by parishioners dedicated to different subjects like “Family Holy Hours”, “Home School Holy Hours”, “Holy Hours in support of our priests”, etc.
- A re-invigorated congregation fed by the Holy Spirit in frequent Adoration.
- A self-sustaining Chapel, not burdening our parish budget or staff, run by donations and volunteers that grows over time.
- A Chapel used not only by our Parishioners, but as word gets out, those of other Parishes and even faith traditions, who are traveling through our area.
- Expanded hours of Adoration, with the goal of, God willing, ramping up to being the state’s only (as far as we know) perpetual adoration chapel, open 24/7.

Our Knights step forwardWith the National Eucharistic Revival in full swing, our Parish Knights of Columbus councils (Canabas Council 1299, Gardiner; Abnaki Council 334, Augusta; and Gov. Kavanagh Council 1423) together felt that there was an opportunity to convert a mostly unused chapel into a space where all Parishioners could come to adore our Lord in the Eucharist in a beautiful, dedicated, and secure location.

Your donation will help usSt Monica Chapel is currently a lovely space. However, to truly make it accessible and worthy of the goal of becoming a "perpetual" adoration chapel we need to do some work! Our goal is to officially open our new Chapel by the Feast of Corpus Christi in June of 2026.
Your donations will help our Knights provide much needed renovations, including:
A custom built, solid oak wall-mounted cabinet built by Phil Bosse, Grand Knight of the Augusta Council to securely house the monstrance featuring interior lighting, mirrored interior walls, lockable security glass front access door, and slide/swing oak doors to cover the monstrance when not in use.- A large floating shelf to support the monstrance cabinet and hold candles and flowers each side of the monstrance.
- A new keyless entry system with keypad for Guardians to use individual codes for entry at beginning of adoration hours.
- A full security system with cameras and monitors.
- A donation drop box & sign-in registry book.
- A new illuminated exterior sign.
- Repairs and paint for walls and ceiling.
- Various decorations and enhancements to the space.

Checks can be sent to the Pastoral Office made out to "Knights of Columbus" with "Adoration Chapel" in the subject line.
Once the renovation of the Chapel is complete, the Knights will be looking for Parishioners to sign up for time slots to be “Guardians” (those committed to be present at each hour of operation so as to never leave the Eucharistic Lord alone).

The work has already begun, but we need to reach our estimated goal of $18,000 to complete the renovations for our Adoration Chapel. A major business donor has stepped forward with a "matching donation"! They will match up to $5,000 if others step forward.
